The Alpine wedding celebrations of Daniel and Serge took place on the most perfect Autumn day: the surrounding mountain peaks were dusted with fresh snow; the trees were a symphony of ambers, rusts and reds; and though they had confetti, they had no need of it, for nature was creating her own - golden pine needles fell softly on the newly married couple as they walked out of the chapel and up an avenue of their joyously celebrating family and friends.
In a day filled with thoughtful details, my favourite was the pale pink collar worn by Rio, their sweet Ring Bearer Dog, whom Daniel rescued while living abroad, which bore in diamante lettering the promise, “I do too.”
The reception took place in the idyllically situated Hôtel Restaurant La Cambuse, but while their loved ones gathered for delicious canapés (it was clear that one of the grooms was a chef!) and champagne, Serge and Daniel snuck away for a few moments together in a meadow higher up the mountain. The long grass was copper-coloured in the golden hour light, but in Winter, this is where Serge and Daniel love to ski, and they stopped to share a kiss on the steps of one of their favourite après-ski venues…
For me, the most unforgettable moment had to be snapping the First Dance - the first Swiss “First Dance” I’ve had the pleasure to capture, and not what I was expecting…Words can’t do it justice; you need to scroll and enjoy for yourself.
Dan and Serge - thank you for the honour of inviting me and Martyn to photograph your beautiful day. It was truly magical, and we wish you both - and Rio - a lifetime of happiness together.
