At the end of June, I returned to Le Régent Crans Montana International School to photograph their Fête de Fin d'Année. Due to the COVID regulations, the celebrations were spread out over two days, in order to allow for a balance between social distancing and still allowing parents to watch. Nevertheless, some parents still had to watch from a separate room while the ceremonies were live-screened. Moreover, the ceremony of the Bilingual Infant School was the only one in which the students were young enough not to have to wear masks. I fervently hope that this will be the last year where we see restrictions and rules limiting attendance and preventing the exchange of happy smiles of celebration - these were there, of course, but just hidden behind masks…
Ultimately, however, even strict regulations can’t quench joy, and the Bilingual Infant School and Senior Graduation ceremonies were particularly uplifting; it was difficult to choose my favourite images from these, as there were so many sweet and moving photos, but here’s a little selection from the days…
