Back in October, I took a road trip through to Saas Fee to photograph the pros riding the Stomping Grounds snow park. Unfortunately, the moment I set up by one of the jumps, the clouds rolled in, creating a tricky lighting situation for both riders and photographers.
I decided to just go with the increasingly white-out conditions and have some fun with over-exposure, an effect which, used here, creates the actual feeling of skiing or snowboarding in a white-out, and additionally allows the riders to ‘pop’ off the light background.
